Next we drove 70km to the site we planned to visit, Anasavas, a Roman-Byzantine city covers 100s of acres, most of it surrounded by a huge wall. Towering over the city is an acropolis I it's a Crusader era Armenian castle and a later Ottoman fortress. Of course, it was a goodly climb to get up to them!
We also visited a few local tombs from the Roman period, as well as the Mosiac floor remains of a Roman bath that now site in here Frontyard and chicken yard of a farm.
Now we are in our hotel in Kiskalesi, steps away from the beach. This is our base for 4 nights and we will drive up into the interior each day (yeah, I know, leaving the beach is dumb!)
All is well. Hot hot hot, but well.
